Rutherglen Baptist Community Church

Welcome to the website of Rutherglen Baptist Community Church.

The building looks like this on the corner of Greenhill Road and Stonelaw Road in Rutherglen which is on the south east side of Glasgow.  For a map of how to get here look at Contact Us page

But the church is not the building, it's the people.   As a small and friendly church we will welcome you.

The People: a story to tell

The congregation is around 40 adult members plus young people   We come from many different backgounds, but each person has a story to tell.  Each one of us has found a spiritual reality in the midst of the circumstances of life.  For us that spiritually real thing has been centred on Jesus, his life and his teaching.

The People: a Community Church

We are committed to community: to creating a community of Chrsitian believers with a radical agenda for living out the truths of the gospel in 21st Century Scotland.

We are committed to our local community in Rutherglen.

Our vision statement is that Rutherglen Baptist Community Church as a Christian Community seeks to respond holistically to community need

The People: with a Baptist heritage

Five hundred years ago, some Christians in Europe tried to live out their Christian faith in a way which included tolerance of others and especially minorities.   They based their lives on the radical teachings of Jesus.  Baptism was a ceremony for someone who had chosen to follow Jesus.

Throughout the world today, many Christians seek to live out the same values and the same response to the teaching of Jesus.  RBCC aims to be at the cutting edge of what it means to be a member of a christian community with a Baptist heritage.
